This is an introductory clinical education that will provide foundational information on the mental health implications of endometriosis and its impact on mood, cognition, identity, trauma responses, and attachment. The presenter will utilize lecture, research integration, and clinical case examples to support the learning objectives and help clinicians understand how to recognize endometriosis-related patterns within their scope of practice. Through these teaching methods, participants will learn how to apply hormone-informed, evidence-based frameworks to improve clinical assessment and therapeutic care.
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
Describe the biological mechanisms of endometriosis and how chronic inflammation and hormonal disruption can influence mood, cognition, and emotional regulation.
Identify at least four psychological, relational, or behavioral patterns commonly associated with endometriosis.
Explain how chronic pain conditions, including endometriosis, intersect with trauma responses and nervous system functioning.
Differentiate between depressive and anxiety symptoms caused by psychosocial stressors versus hormonally mediated patterns in endometriosis.
Apply at least three clinically appropriate, scope-aligned interventions to support clients living with endometriosis
